Ich bin Franziska, Songwriterin und Filmmusik-Komponistin. Meine ständige Suche nach neuen Klangquellen und Sounds trifft in meiner Arbeit auf meine Ausbildung in Klavier und Jazzgesang. Studiert habe ich Musik an der Universität der Künste und Theologie an der Humboldt-Universität Berlin, sowie Komposition an der Filmuniversität Babelsberg Konrad Wolf. Ich lebe und arbeite in Berlin.
I am Franziska, songwriter and composer for movie and TV. My continuos search for new sounds is as important to my work as my training at the piano and my voice. What does it mean to make an animated film accessible to people with impaired vision? Can audio description convey what’s happening on the screen and what is, especially in animated film, often entirely a product of the imagination?

I just came back from the MCM with lots of new experiences, Marseille is a very vibrant city - still a gate to the world! I heard wonderful film scores during the week and met great composers from all over the world. Merci Marseille et je reviendrai.

The short documentary "A Day's Work" (Max Kerkhoff) is in competition at the Marseille Film Festival. The experimental sound-based music was composed by Isacco Chiaf and myself.

I just finished my work on a Sitcom for ZDFneo, which will be released and broadcasted this year.
Last year I was part of the Female Film Composer Class. 8 Women, including me, are preparing to work in a collective, that is working on an album. Very exciting!
In March I will be part of the Jury for "Jugend Musiziert" (category Composing for Film) and I am very curious about the young composers!!
